Baby Camp

Baby Camp was a success!
Nana signed the boys up for this sibling class at the hospital in hopes of easing some of Owen's anxieties about the new baby (he doesn't want Evan to come out of my tummy ever!).
But he was the first to dive into the class tonight and hold the "baby" and change diapers.

Andrew was a pro!

Owen wanted to push on the "squishy" head.

Owen tossed the "icky" diaper right over his shoulder!

Andrew treated this with the seriousness of a CPR class!

And by the end of class, Owen was ready for baby (HA!)

"Don't touch my baby brother!"

Christmas Cookies

Holiday baking has begun!! The boys were very excited to dig right into the frosting and help out. You can definitely tell which cookies they frosted! They have inherited their Uncle's flavor for decorating. Very, um, "artistic"!!!!

Conversation with a 5 year old

Bedtime questions have become quite interesting lately. Andrew has a very inquisitive mind and wants to know exactly how EVERYTHING works. Here is an excerpt from the latest bedtime query.....

"Mom, when will Evan get here?"

"Oh, he will be here soon enough buddy. Pretty soon he will arrive and then you will want him back in mommy's tummy!"

"Why?"

"Well, he will be crying and pooping all the time and you will probably want to get rid of him then."

"Yes. I will want it to be nice and quiet again."

"Goodnight, buddy. I love you." (mom exits room)

"Dad, what if you had the baby?"

"Well, that probably wouldn't work. I don't have a uterus."

"What is a uterus?"

"That is what the baby grows inside of in mommy's tummy."

"Well, dad, what if you had a uterus in your nuts?"

"Oh, I don't know. I will have to go ask mom!"

(end conversation!)

Winter Wonderland

Winter has arrived in Montana!
Owen and I spent the morning playing in the snow while Andrew was in school. Aidan has forbidden me from shoveling snow so Owen took over the job for me!

Well, maybe eating the snow is more fun!

The Face Plant

Owen's first run through the snow didn't go so well! He tripped on his new boots and went face first into the snow.

Brrrrrr!!!

Trying his hardest to keep a sad face....

Ok, face plants are fun!

Halloween Fun

A few pictures from Halloween!
Owen wanted nothing to do with the carving. He thought the pumpkin guts were too stinky!!

Happy Birthday, Owen!

Here are a few pictures from Owen's birthday parties....

Owen and Oma almost share a birthday. They are just one day apart so they celebrated together....Owen's 3rd and Oma's 80th!

Posing before the paper starts flying...

"Yes!! The drums I have been wanting!!!"

He is amazingly quite good....and so serious when playing.

"I love my new slippers!"

(P.S. Andrew wants a pair of dragon slippers just like these, Uncle Korey and Aunt Anne!)

Pumpkin Patch

Today was Andrew's first Montessori field trip!

A fun day at Sartorie Farm's Pumpkin Patch....a bumpy tractor "hay" ride,

Finding the perfect pumpkin in the patch,

and it wouldn't be complete without "milking" the cow!
Thankfully the udders are just filled with water :)

Never too old....

for a warm, fuzzy blanket!

The boys were jealous of how soft and fuzzy the new baby blanket turned out.

So they begged and pleaded for mommy to make them one!
And what a joy it was to take 2 little boys to the fabric store to pick out fabric :) Every bolt of fabric was Owen's "favorite"! We finally decided on matching (no fighting!) blankets with different binding to tell them apart!!

Woe is me.....

I am already in nesting mode and cannot find a single place to buy modern looking baby and nursery decor. Nothing. Nada. Zip.

Whatever is one to do when there is no decent shopping in Big Sky Country??

Plan A: Shop online, of course! Find a fabulous, outrageously expensive bedding set that only the celebrity folk could afford. And that is exactly what I did. Hmmm.

Plan B: Find similar material at your local fabric store and make it yourself!! Who knew I was so crafty, right?? Well, I'm not. Luckily, Grandma was in town to visit so I put her to work while she was here! She cut and pinned while I sewed on the dotted line!

And the final result....a fabulous, not-so-outrageously expensive bedding set that even the common folk could afford!!

Here is a sneak-peek at Evan's Sock Monkey nursery.

(You can click on the pictures for greater detail!)

I will post more pics of the nursery once it is complete!

KINDERGARTEN

Andrew started his first day of school today! It wasn't too traumatic for mom since he has been going to the summer program this year. He is very excited though and wants to go seven days a week!!! (Owen wants to go too!)
